What fruits should pregnant mums avoid?

Pregnant women tend to have cravings for fruits that are a little sweet and sour. This will be fine as long as you are aware of the properties of the fruits, and choose carefully. As an example, expectant mothers who are anaemic should cut down on pomegranates and apricots.


Chinese hawthorn: This sweet and sour fruit is not only a good appetiser, but it also helps with digestion. It’s no wonder it is one of expectant mothers’ favourites. However, Chinese hawthorn has a stimulating effect on the uterus, promoting contraction. Consuming a large amount of Chinese hawthorns or its products may lead to a miscarriage. Therefore, pregnant women with a history of miscarriage or threatened miscarriage should avoid this fruit.

Longan: Longan is often taken as a supplementary food because it is rich in nutrients, such as glucose, sucrose, and vitamins. While it is good for the heart and spleen, expectant mothers should avoid eating longan during pregnancy because it is a type of heaty food, and this clashes with the pregnant body, which is already heaty from the inside. This can cause constipation, dry tongue and mouth, and may even be harmful to the child. In severe cases, mothers may even develop threatened miscarriage symptoms, such as vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain.


Other fruits: Some of you might have the perception that all fruits are rich in nutrients that will not cause weight gain. Eating lots of fruits might even help give your newborn a healthy complexion. However, in addition to the 90% of water, fruits also contain glucose, fructose, sucrose and vitamins. These sugars are easily digestible, and fructose and glucose can be converted to triglycerides, a type of fat that easily leads to weight gain and high blood cholesterol. Thus, expectant mothers should eat no more than 300 grams of fruits per day.

Chinese hawthorn tu ape???

ermm rasenye macam tengok ibu2 tu jugak kot.. ade yg mmg kalah.. ade plak.. kebal..

ade orang kata nenas, kelapa, tapai, tebu tak bole.. durian berlebihan pun takleh..
tp yan Alhamdulillah.. semua tu yan leh bedal..
